For almost a century, AWI annual exhibitions have been an important and popular feature of the cultural calendar, highlighting the role of watercolour painting in the history of Australian art.
This collaborative exhibition between the Australian Watercolour Institute and the Shandong Watercolour Society comprises more than 150 works. It continues the Institute's commitment to cross-cultural exchanges to showcase the myriad techniques, styles and subject matter in the development of contemporary watercolour painting internationally. A dynamic survey of both traditional and experimental works, Australia-Shadong demonstrates in its diversity that watercolour endures as a vital, innovative medium in contemporary fine art practice.
